Hitman's dichotomy between its intense yet endearing love story mixed with the dark and thrilling tropes of murder and mystery is not only unique, but also incredibly fresh in an era where there seems to be a lack of creativity in this genre.
Richard Linklater continues to push the envelope and show why he is one of the most unique minds in film today. Glen Powell and Adria Arjona both show off their exceptional range and have impeccable on-screen chemistry. Powell was also a writer on this film, which allowed him to curate a role that he connected to more than most in his filmography.
“The one thing that you realize about Hollywood is no one's ever going to give you the role that you've dreamed of. You have to bake it up yourself.” - Glen Powell via USA Today
Hitman is easily one of the best films to release this year and immediately enters itself into the discussion for one of the best "romantic dramadies" in recent memory.
